How to ride
The songthaew leaves Daoheuang market, crosses town and the Lao–Japanese Bridge to the Mekong west bank, passes the foot of Wat Phou Salao, then follows the river south to the Champasak ferry landing, Champasak town and the Wat Phou entrance. Allow 1–1.5 hours.
- Board at the songthaew bays at Daoheuang market.
- Return trips are few — the last one leaves around 15:00. If you miss it, take a tuk-tuk to the Ban Muang ferry and catch a ride on Route 13.
- The Wat Phou entrance fee is not included.
